Mission to walk the London monopoly board: two years late, checked! 😄 we made it! I've been to London many times, but nothing prepares me for the mini adventure we had it the stinging-cold autumn. Yes, I read about people who walked the whole board in a single day. No, we did not do that lols.. We decided to take it slow, skipped the utilities, skipped the morning rush hour, had coffee in-between, and completed our mission after three days. It's been two months, we've just sorted the photos, and will start uploading once we find the time.

The Box

The box we now have at home

So I bought a buy a new Monopoly set for the school holidays. But some items in the new box looked unfamiliar that I thought I had bought the wrong set! These are the tokens we’ve got in the box :

  • Wheelbarrow
  • Shoe
  • Cat
  • Thimble
  • Battleship
  • Dog
  • Hat
  • Car
I thought we also had iron an and a locomotive before back in the 80s.

I've also noticed a change on the currency symbol, where they seem to show an "M" with two straight lines across it. I was quite sure that my old Monopoly set had the pound (£) symbol before. When I searched online, a number of websites pointed out that the M currency is now used on Monopoly since the year 2008 so that explains it. Have a read to one of them here.

The monopoly map is here!

Hey guys, I finally have my first draft out for pinning the location from Monopoly Game Board UK edition into Google map. Monopoly has always been our family's favourite board game for so long, therefore I hope you enjoy exploring the maps as much as we do, whether on-site or afar :)

As we all know the Monopoly properties are mostly streets, so I had marked them in lines of same group colour. The lines are crooked at the moment, that's something to be improved as I go along.

I will keep updating the map and this blog, and in the meantime you're most welcomed to leave any comments and suggestions too. Yes, I'm not from the city itself but London has always been close to my hearts for so many different reasons... Monopoly board being one of them :D what's not to love! Happy holidays everyone!
